About
TCPA Desk is a reference desk for the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the state statutes that sit beside it: numbers, definitions, citations, deadlines and tables, with no narrative. Every figure on this site links to the primary text so that a reader can check it without taking anyone's word for it.
- scope
- Facts, numbers, definitions, citations and tables for the federal TCPA, the FCC and FTC rules, and the main state statutes. No narrative, no advice on any particular letter, no ratings or recommendations of any firm that sends or defends claims.
- status
- General legal information, not legal advice. Nothing here creates a relationship with any lawyer. Application to your facts: a lawyer admitted in your state.
- method
- Each entry was checked against the statutory text at law.cornell.edu, the rule text at ecfr.gov, the FCC order cited, or the state statute as published by the state legislature. Where a figure could not be confirmed from primary text, it is marked "see statute" or omitted. Nothing is estimated.
- updated
- 2026-11-03. Entries are reviewed when the FCC adopts a rule, a court of appeals or the Supreme Court decides a TCPA case, or a listed state amends its statute.
- errors
- Entries are checked against the primary source cited. Where the statute, rule or order has changed, the entry is corrected and dated.
- data
- No accounts, no forms, no tracking beyond standard server logs.
